Sophomore forward Jose Stable (EBC High School/Brooklyn, NY) posted a game-high 28 points and 16 rebounds to power Berkeley College (NY) to an 89-73 victory over SUNY Cobleskill in the consolation game of the Hamilton College Thanksgiving Tournament to improve to 4-3 on the season.
Stable was 11 of 15 from the floor, and led the Knights with seven assists and was also named to the All-Tournament Team. Junior guard Kaseem Williams ( Boys & Girls/Brooklyn , NY ) chipped in 22 points and seven boards, and sophomore guard Jovan Bovell (Jamaica/Jamaica, NY) added 15 points and five assists. Sophomore center Elijah Craig (Seward Park/Brooklyn, NY) pulled down 13 rebounds.
The Knights shot 57 percent from the floor, and outrebounded the Fighting Tigers 46-20.
In the opening game, host Hamilton College defeated the Knights 86-55. There were three ties and eight lead changes through the first 14 minutes, 39 seconds as the Knights hung in with the Continentals, but a 15-3 run in the final 4:34 of the first half would lead Hamilton into the break up by 12 at 35-23. Hamilton opened the second half with a 27-6 run to put the game out reach.
Berkeley would get no closer than 22 the rest of the way. Stable paced the Knights with a game-high 21 points and 15 rebounds to go along with a team-high three assists while Williams added 15 points and a game-high three steals.
