The New Jersey men's basketball team split two games at the USCAA Tip-Off Tournament at Southern Maine Community College this past weekend.
The Knights lost the first game to Central Maine Community College by a score of 74 to 68. The Knights led 36 to 35 at halftime before poor foul shooting plagued them for the second game in a row, shooting only 57% for the game.
The Knights were led by sophomore forward Andrew Webber (Thomas Worthington/Columbus, OH) with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Freshman forward Davonn Boyd (Kearny Christian Academy/Newark, NJ) and sophomore center Terah Mingo (Kearny Christian Academy/Newark, NJ) both scored 12 points, respectively.
The Knights would secure their first win of the season the next day against Southern Maine by a score of 69 to 64 to improve their record to 1-2 on the season.
The Knights managed to put four players in double figures with Webber once again leading all scorers with 16 points and 8 rebounds.
The Knights now travel to New Hampshire for their second straight tournament of the season.
