For the first time ever, both the New York and New Jersey men's basketball teams traveled together to compete in the same tournament in North Carolina against Johnson and Wales and Warren Wilson College.
All four teams left the tournament 1-1 on the season. The first night opened well for both Berkeley squads with New Jersey defeating Warren Wilson 69-61 and New York defeating Johnson and Wales 77-76. But the roles would reverse on the second day with New York losing to Wilson and New Jersey losing to Johnson and Wales 82-79.
Both teams have a few days off with New Jersey playing host to The King's College on November 11 and New York playing host to RPI on November 17.

MEN LOSE IN SEMIFINALS
The New York men's basketball team's run to the USCAA National Championship came to an end after an 84-81 loss to Penn State Fayette in the semifinals.
The Knights were led by junior guard Jovan Bovell who scored 23 points on 8 for 12 shooting. Overall the team hit 10 for 16 from three point range. Junior center Elijah Craig managed a double-double for the Knights with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
The team ends the season with a 16-8 record and their third consecutive Hudson Valley Conference title and their third straight appearance in the USCAA National Championships.

MEN AND WOMEN ADVANCE TO FINAL FOUR
The Berkeley College New York men's and women's basketball teams advanced to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Final Four today.
The men began the day by defeating Penn State York by a score of 92-72. The Knights were led by forward Danzel Whyte who grabbed a game high 11 rebounds, 6 offensive and dropped in 16 points on 6 for 10 shooting. He was joined in double figures by forward Jose Stable with 21 points and 10 rebounds and guard Kaseem Williams with 21 points and 9 assists.
Following the men's game, the women advanced with a 68-63 win over Penn State Brandywine. The Knights were led by guard Aiyesha Brown who led all scorers with 23 points and hit 4 for 9 from three-point range. She was joined in double figures by forward Milan Germany with 14 points and 15 rebounds, guard Janay Thomas with 13 points, and guard Olivia Byfield with 10 points.
The men return to action tomorrow at 3 P.M. and the women at 7 P.M.

MEN AND WOMEN VIE FOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The New York men's and women's basketball teams will begin their quest for their first national championship on Thursday at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Basketball Championships.
The#3 seeded men tip off at Noon against #6 seeded Penn State York on Thursday and the #5 seeded women tip off at 4 P.M. against the #4 seeded Penn State Brandywine.

ALL-AMERICANS ANNOUNCED
Nine Berkeley College athletes were honored by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association at the National Basketball Championships banquet for their academics and performance.
Gary Williams, Jr., Jovan Bovell, and Aiyesha Brown were all named Honorable Mention All-Americans.
Isaac Robinson and Kaseem Williams were named Second Team All-Americans.
Milan Germany and Jose Stable were named First Team All-Americans.
Alexander Loniakan and Janay Thomas were named Academic All-Americans.

MEN WIN THIRD CONSECUTIVE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Berkeley College New York men's basketball team defeated St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn 71-67 to earn their third consecutive Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference Championship while at the same time extending their conference unbeaten streak to 25 consecutive games. The championship was the Knights' sixth overall in men's basketball in the HVMAC.
The Knights jumped out to an early dominating lead going into the half with a 17-point lead, 44-27, while shooting 54.5% from the field. The second half, however, would tell a different story as the Bears would outscore the Knights 40-27 in the half and even take the lead with 6:59 left in the game, 56-54.
The Bears would not relinquish the lead until 4:22 remained in the game and the Knights would hold on for the rest of the game despite the Bears' 22-11 advantage at the free throw stripe in the second half and overall 31-16 advantage at the line and their 28 to 11 advantage in turnovers for the game. The Knights would dominate the boards 53 to 33 with sophomore forward Danzel Whyte grabbing a game high 15 including 7 offensive.

The Berkeley College New York men's basketball team advanced to their third consecutive Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference championship game by defeating Vaughn College 74-44 earlier today.
Senior forward Jose Stable led all scorers with 19 points in 28 minutes on 8 for 12 shooting. He was joined in double figures by senior guard Kaseem Williams with 16 points in 25 minutes on 6 for 11 shooting and 9 assists. Overall ten different players scored for the Knights who dominated the game from the opening tip. For the game the Knights shot 55.4% from the field and grabbed 48 rebounds to Vaughn's 21.1% and 42 rebounds.
The win improves the Knights' record to 14-7 on the season and they will try and secure their third consecutive conference championship at 2 P.M. on Sunday.

MEN AND WOMEN RECEIVE BID TO NATIONAL TOURNAMENT
The Berkeley College New York men's and women's basketball teams received bids to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Basketball Championship Tournament today.
This marks the third consecutive season the men's team has been selected to participate in the national championship and the second consecutive season for the women. The men lost in the championship game last season to Andrews University.
Seedings for the tournament will be announced on Wednesday.

NY ENDS CONFERENCE REGULAR SEASON UNDEFEATED
The Berkeley College New York men's basketball team extended their conference win streak to 24 straight games and ended the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference regular season undefeated for the third consecutive season with a 90-63 win over Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences to improve to 13-7 on the season.
The Knights had a solid first half, shooting 18-32 (56%)
from the field and pouring in 12 fast-break points; while the Panthers also
turned in a nice effort, shooting 16-33 (48%) from the field, however, it was
the Knights that went up by as many as 15 points, 21-6, with over 13 minutes to
play, powered by back-to-back fast-break lay-ups by Kaseem Williams and Jose
Stable. Both teams would trade baskets for the rest of the half as Berkeley
College went into the locker room up by 11, 50-39. Stable led the Knights with
14 points on a perfect 5-5 from the field.
Defense was on the Knights mind for the second half as they
only allowed 10 points in the first 13 plus minutes of play. In that span the
Knights extended their lead to 24 points, 73-49 with 6:20 remaining in the
game. The Panthers would only get within 15 points before the Knights went on
another run to end the game by a final score of, 90-63.
The Knights were lead by seniors’ Williams and Stable whom
had 19 and 22 respectfully. Danzel Whyte contributed nicely, leading all scorers
with 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
The Knights will be the #1 seed entering the HVMAC playoffs on February 16 at The College of New Rochelle.

KNIGHTS CRUISE PAST NEW SCHOOL
The New York men's basketball team cruised to a 96-47 win over The New School to improve to 11-7 on the season.
The Knights were led by Jose Stable with 20 points in 31 minutes of action and Kaseem Williams with 18 points in 20 minutes. Elijah Craig joined them in double figures with 14 points in 14 minutes.

NY LOSES TO NHTI IN SECOND HALF
The Berkeley College New York men's team never looked better in the first half against #1 seeded NHTI on Saturday, and never looked worse in the second half as the game told a tale of two stories.
The Knights dominated early, leading the Lynx by as much as 19 points in the first half before settling for a 40-23 lead at halftime that included several highlight dunks.
The Knights would push the lead to 20 early in the second half before the Lynx came out on fire going on a 30-10 run to tie it at 53-53 with 10:53 remaining in the game. At the 5:19 mark the Lynx would take the lead for good and would close out the game for an 84-76 win, outscoring the Knights 61-36 in the second half.

BERKELEY INVITATIONAL THIS WEEKEND
This weekend Berkeley College will host
its annual Berkeley College Invitational Basketball Tournament, featuring
nationally ranked men’s and women’s teams from the NYC metropolitan area and
the Berkeley men's and women's teams from the Woodland Park and New York City
campuses. All games will be played at Hostos Community College in the Bronx,

Enjoying its most successful season in team history, the New Jersey squad
(10-10) are currently ranked #12 in the USCAA-2 and making a strong push for
qualification to the National Tournament. The Knights are led by freshman

game, including a career-high 46 points last Monday night against Vaughn

fourth-ranked Knights (7-7) are seeking to break a recent three-game slide
against fifth-ranked NHTI whom they defeated earlier this season 65-54 in
Concord, NH to win the NHTI Holiday Inn New Year’s Invitational. The Knights
are led by junior guard Milan Germany (Notre
Dame Prep/Bronx, NY) at 19.5 points per game and senior guard Aiyesha Brown
(John Adams/Jamaica, NY) who drops 13.4 points per game.
Berkeley
College NY (Men): The seventh-ranked Knights (10-6) bring a four game winning
streak into the tournament and face the #1 ranked NHTI Lynx (25-1) who have won
17 games in a row. Berkeley will seek to avenge an 86-83 loss earlier this
season to the Lynx in the championship game of the NHTI Holiday Inn New Year’s
Tournament. The Knights are led by the senior guard tandem of Jose Stable (EBC
HS for Public Service/Brooklyn, NY) with 22.1 points per game and Kaseem
Williams (Boys & Girls/Brooklyn, NY) with 19.7 points per game.
Hostos Community College is located on the corner of the
Grand Concourse and East 149th Street in the New York City borough
of the Bronx. The campus is easily accessible by mass transit by taking the 2,

ROBINSON SETS RECORD
Freshman guard Isaac Robinson (Conwell Egan Catholic/Trenton, NJ) scored a record high 46 points against Vaughn College on Monday night. The previous record for a Berkeley player in a single game was by senior guard Kaseem Williams (Boys and Girls/Brooklyn, NY), who scored 36 points against SUNY Potsdam in November.

BERKELEY EXTENDS WIN STREAK TO 23 GAMES
The Berkeley College New York men's basketball team defeated arch rival St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) 76-74 on Saturday night at Brooklyn Technical High School to extend their conference win streak to 23 games.
Senior forward Jose Stable's fadeaway jumper with three seconds remaining put the Knights on top for good.
The win improves the Knights' record to (10-6, 5-0 HVMAC), who have won the last five meetings between the two programs and have gone undefeated in conference play for the last three seasons.
Stable led five Knights in double figures with 17 points, all coming in the second-half after not playing the first, and finished 6-for-6 shooting. Center Elijah Craig added 15 points, pulled down 13 rebounds and rejected six shots. Kaseem Williams chipped in 12 points and Danzel Whyte contributed 11 points.
A Stable trey with two minutes remaining gave the Knights a 74-71 lead, which they clung to until the final seconds. The Bears missed three attempts at equalizing the game from distance, before St. Joseph's drained one from the deep left corner to ignite the large crowd for Alumni, Family and Friends Day.
With the score tied 74-74 and Berkeley with possession, the Knights were content with the final shot and Stable took over, driving to the foul line then stepping back to knock down the shot from 17 feet. With no timeouts remaining, the Bears could only manage a desperation shot from the full length of the court, which hit the top of the backboard.
Berkeley finished the more efficient squad, connecting on 45 percent of their attempts (27-of-60) while the Bears hit for 37 percent (25-of-68) but landed 11 triples. Although Knights made two more miscues, 17-15, Berkeley made the most of their opportunities holding a 25-9 edge in points off turnovers.

NY MEN WIN THIRD STRAIGHT
Four players scored in double figures as the New York men's basketball team scored a 99-24 victory over Pratt Institute to win their third consecutive game and improve to 4-0 in the Hudson Valley Conference.
Berkeley (9-6) jumped out to a 9-0 lead and held the Cannoneers to a single FG until two baskets in the final minute of the first half. The Knights defense limited Pratt to 16% field goal percentage for the game.
Junior guard Jovan Bovell (Jamaica, NY/Jamaica) led all Berkeley scorers with 21 points while junior center Elijah Craig (Brooklyn, NY/Seward Park) posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Knights return to the hardwood this Saturday at 7:30PM in a key conference matchup against longtime rival St. Joseph's College at Brooklyn Technical High School. This will be the second game of a doubleheader with the women's squads facing each other at 5:00PM. NY DEFEATS ESF
The New York men’s basketball squad defeated the SUNY ESF Mighty Oaks by a final score of 109-67 this afternoon. The win improved the Knights record to 8-6 overall.
Although the Mighty Oaks took an early lead, 12-10, the Knights took their first lead, 13-12, on a three-point field goal by Alexander Loniakan with 12:59 remaining in the first half. The Knights would not look back from there, as they would extend their lead to as many as 24 points. The score at half time was 57-33, Berkeley College. Jose Stable led all with 17 points on 7-9 shooting in the first half.
In the second half, the Knights would increase their lead to over 40 points. Berkeley College shot 38-72 (53%) including 12-29 (41%) from three while the Mighty Oaks shot 25-66 (38%) and only 3-13 (23%) from three. The knights also posted nine steals and nine blocks in the game.
Stable’s 29 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists, led Berkeley College. Kaseem Williams poured in 26 points of his own, hitting 10-14 free throws to go along with nine assists. Loniakan chipped in with 15 points on 5-9 shooting from three. Danny MacElrath led the Mighty Oaks with 12 points on 6-13 shooting from the field.
The Knights will hit the road and take on Pratt Institute this Wednesday, January 23 for a 7:30 PM match-up.
NY MEN IMPROVE TO 7-6
The New York men's basketball team earned its third victory in
the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference with a 79-53 victory over Vaughn College.
With the win the Knights regained sole possession of first place in the
conference at 3-0 while improving to 7-6 for the season.
The Knights held the Warriors (6-8 overall, 3-2 HVMAC) scoreless for the
first 6:35 on the opening half en route to an early 14-0 lead. Their lead
ballooned to 42-18 at halftime as the Berkeley defense limited Vaughn to 23% FG
shooting for the half. The Warriors would get as close as 12 points at 42-30
with 14:32 to play in the second half before Berkeley would go on an 8-0 run to
push the lead back to 20 at 50-30 and were never seriously threatened
afterwards.
Seniors Kaseem Williams (Brooklyn, NY/Boys & Girls) and Jose Stable
(Brooklyn, NY/EBC High School for Public Service) led the scoring for Berkeley
with 25 points and 22 points, respectively. Junior Danzel Whyte (Brooklyn,
NY/Teachers Preparatory) was the third Knight to finish in double figures in
scoring with 11 points.
Berkeley completes its weekend series tomorrow afternoon with a 12:00
matinee against SUNY-ESF in a USCAA conference game at the Borough of Manhattan
Community College.

STABLE EARNS THIRD STRAIGHT AWARD
Senior forward Jose Stable earned his third straight Player of the Week nod for the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference, leading the Knights to a runner-up finish at the NHTI New Year's Tournament. Over the tournament, the senior guard/forward averaged 27.5 points, while shooting 61 percent (22-for-36), grabbing 8.0 rebounds and swiping 3.5 steals. During an opening-round victory over Maine-Augusta, Stable shot a perfect 13-for-13 from the field en route to a 33-point, eight-rebound, six-steal effort.

BERKELEY SWEEPS THREE
Berkeley College swept a trifecta this evening with all three basketball programs winning tonight. The wins improved all three programs to one game over .500 for the season as well!

The New York men followed suit, beating the University of Maine-Augusta's men's team 87-66. The New Jersey men meanwhile defeated Vaughn College at home by a score of 90-56.
The women improve to 5-4 on the season while the New York men improve to 6-5 and the New Jersey men improve to 8-7.
The win for the New Jersey program is their fourth in a row.
