The New York men's basketball team earned its third victory in the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference with a 79-53 victory over Vaughn College. With the win the Knights regained sole possession of first place in the conference at 3-0 while improving to 7-6 for the season.

The Knights held the Warriors (6-8 overall, 3-2 HVMAC) scoreless for the first 6:35 on the opening half en route to an early 14-0 lead. Their lead ballooned to 42-18 at halftime as the Berkeley defense limited Vaughn to 23% FG shooting for the half. The Warriors would get as close as 12 points at 42-30 with 14:32  to play in the second half before Berkeley would go on an 8-0 run to push the lead back to 20 at 50-30 and were never seriously threatened afterwards.
