The Berkeley College New York men's and women's basketball teams advanced to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Final Four today.
The men began the day by defeating Penn State York by a score of 92-72. The Knights were led by forward Danzel Whyte who grabbed a game high 11 rebounds, 6 offensive and dropped in 16 points on 6 for 10 shooting. He was joined in double figures by forward Jose Stable with 21 points and 10 rebounds and guard Kaseem Williams with 21 points and 9 assists.
Following the men's game, the women advanced with a 68-63 win over Penn State Brandywine. The Knights were led by guard Aiyesha Brown who led all scorers with 23 points and hit 4 for 9 from three-point range. She was joined in double figures by forward Milan Germany with 14 points and 15 rebounds, guard Janay Thomas with 13 points, and guard Olivia Byfield with 10 points.
The men return to action tomorrow at 3 P.M. and the women at 7 P.M.

MEN AND WOMEN VIE FOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The New York men's and women's basketball teams will begin their quest for their first national championship on Thursday at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Basketball Championships.
The#3 seeded men tip off at Noon against #6 seeded Penn State York on Thursday and the #5 seeded women tip off at 4 P.M. against the #4 seeded Penn State Brandywine.

ALL-AMERICANS ANNOUNCED
Nine Berkeley College athletes were honored by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association at the National Basketball Championships banquet for their academics and performance.
Gary Williams, Jr., Jovan Bovell, and Aiyesha Brown were all named Honorable Mention All-Americans.
Isaac Robinson and Kaseem Williams were named Second Team All-Americans.
Milan Germany and Jose Stable were named First Team All-Americans.
Alexander Loniakan and Janay Thomas were named Academic All-Americans.

VOLLEYBALL IMPROVES TO 3-0
The New Jersey men's volleyball team improved to 3-0 on the season last night after defeating Sarah Lawrence College in straight sets, 25-13, 25-17, 25-16. The team was led by Lucas Pucheta, who managed 10 kills on a .381 hitting percentage.
Overall the team played poorly, managing only a .192 hitting percentage and only 4 aces with 13 service errors, yet still managed to walk away with the victory.
The team now heads to Bard College for the weekend and will square off against Keuka College and Sage College on Friday night, then Mount Saint Vincent and Bard College on Saturday.

MEN WIN THIRD CONSECUTIVE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Berkeley College New York men's basketball team defeated St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn 71-67 to earn their third consecutive Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference Championship while at the same time extending their conference unbeaten streak to 25 consecutive games. The championship was the Knights' sixth overall in men's basketball in the HVMAC.
The Knights jumped out to an early dominating lead going into the half with a 17-point lead, 44-27, while shooting 54.5% from the field. The second half, however, would tell a different story as the Bears would outscore the Knights 40-27 in the half and even take the lead with 6:59 left in the game, 56-54.
The Bears would not relinquish the lead until 4:22 remained in the game and the Knights would hold on for the rest of the game despite the Bears' 22-11 advantage at the free throw stripe in the second half and overall 31-16 advantage at the line and their 28 to 11 advantage in turnovers for the game. The Knights would dominate the boards 53 to 33 with sophomore forward Danzel Whyte grabbing a game high 15 including 7 offensive.
Senior Jose Stable and junior Jovan Bovell would lead the team with 19 points apiece and Stable contributed 13 boards.
The win improves the Knights' record to 15-7 for the season as they prepare for their third consecutive appearance in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Basketball Championship Tournament.

WOMEN FALL TO ST. JOE'S
The Berkeley College New York women's basketball team fell to St. Joseph's College 56-42 in the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference semifinals despite a spirited 20-9 run to open the second half to take a 34-32 lead with just under 13 minutes left in the game.
The Knights were led by junior forward Milan Germany with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. She was joined in double figures by sophomore guard Janay Thomas with 11 points. The Knights were outrebounded 54-34 by the Bears and shot only 22% for the game yet still managed to keep it close throughout the second half.
The loss drops the Knights to 12-9 on the season as they prepare to travel to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Basketball Tournament starting February 27 at Penn State Fayette.

The Berkeley College New York men's basketball team advanced to their third consecutive Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference championship game by defeating Vaughn College 74-44 earlier today.
Senior forward Jose Stable led all scorers with 19 points in 28 minutes on 8 for 12 shooting. He was joined in double figures by senior guard Kaseem Williams with 16 points in 25 minutes on 6 for 11 shooting and 9 assists. Overall ten different players scored for the Knights who dominated the game from the opening tip. For the game the Knights shot 55.4% from the field and grabbed 48 rebounds to Vaughn's 21.1% and 42 rebounds.
The win improves the Knights' record to 14-7 on the season and they will try and secure their third consecutive conference championship at 2 P.M. on Sunday.

NJ MEN WIN AGAIN
The Berkeley College New Jersey men's basketball team took an early and commanding lead on Bard College Friday night, before Bard cut a 16-point second-half deficit to two with 3:38 remaining in the game. Berkeley, however, would outscore Bard 13-3 from there, earning an 82-70 victory in the first-ever meeting between the teams on Friday night to improve to 12-11 on the season.
The key to the game was the turnover battle, with Berkeley only turning the ball over six times all game to Bard's 17.
Berkeley got 25 points, seven rebounds and four steals from freshman Dukens Germain (Columbia/Maplewood, NJ). Freshman guard Darryl Robinson (Franklin/Somerset, NJ) added 15 points for the Knights.
The Knights have two games remaining on the schedule, travelling to Davis College on Tuesday before ending the season at home against conference rival Williamson on Thursday.

The Berkeley College New York men's and women's basketball teams received bids to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Basketball Championship Tournament today.
This marks the third consecutive season the men's team has been selected to participate in the national championship and the second consecutive season for the women. The men lost in the championship game last season to Andrews University.
Seedings for the tournament will be announced on Wednesday.
