The Berkeley College New York women's basketball team fell to St. Joseph's College 56-42 in the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference semifinals despite a spirited 20-9 run to open the second half to take a 34-32 lead with just under 13 minutes left in the game.
The Knights were led by junior forward Milan Germany with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. She was joined in double figures by sophomore guard Janay Thomas with 11 points. The Knights were outrebounded 54-34 by the Bears and shot only 22% for the game yet still managed to keep it close throughout the second half.
The loss drops the Knights to 12-9 on the season as they prepare to travel to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Basketball Tournament starting February 27 at Penn State Fayette.
