NJ MEN'S BASKETBALL SPLITS AT ROWAN

The New Jersey men's basketball team lost to Rowan University, 92-76, on the first day of the Rohrer College of Business Classic before responding with a stirring 78-74 win over Rutgers-Camden in the consolation game. It was the second straight year that the Knights defeated the Scarlet Raptors.

The split over the weekend raises Berkeley's record to 4-6 on the season.


In the Rowan game, freshman guard Isaac Robinson (Trenton, NJ/Conwell Egan Catholic) and senior guard Gary Williams (Jersey City, NJ/Marist) posted 20 points apiece. Robinson grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds. Guard Darryl Robinson (fr. Somerset, NJ/Franklin) added 14 points and five boards. Freshman guard Hassan Abdullah (Trenton, NJ/Trenton Central) contributed with nine points off the bench.

Williams led Berkeley with a game-high 27 points in the Rutgers game while Robinson totaled 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Williams was named to the All-Tournament Team.


The Knights return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Wilkes University for a 7 P.M. tip off.
