Berkeley College's New Jersey men's soccer team started their season off on the right foot by defeating the Crimson Eagles of Philadelphia Biblical University in overtime by a score of 2-1.
The Knights were led by freshman midfielder Daniel Vieceli (Kearny, NJ/Kearny HS) who scored the first goal of the season from 25 yards out with a shot to the upper right post in the first half. The Crimson Eagles would tie the game before the half.
Both teams would go scoreless for the second half before fellow freshman defender Matthew Witten (Stockholm, NJ/Sussex Tech HS) would seal the win for the Knights in overtime. Freshman goalkeeper, Thomas Frangieh (Newton, NJ/Newton HS) earned his first career collegiate win.
The Knights head to Virginia for the weekend to compete in the Tiger Wildcat Classic against Hampden-Sydney College and Randolph College on Saturday and Sunday.
