The Berkeley College women's soccer team fell behind early against St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn in a pivotal Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference match and couldn't recover despite a run late in the second half.
It took only a little more than six minutes into the match before the Bears took a 1-0 lead off of a set play on a corner kick. The Bears would extend their lead to 2-0 in the 35th minute on an unassisted goal.
The Bears would seemingly put the game out of reach on a goal in the 59th minute before the Knights would finally get on the scoreboard three minutes later on an unassisted goal by freshman forward Anna Folkesson (Johannes Hedbergskolan/Helsinborg, Sweden) for the final 3-1 score.
The loss drops the Knights to 1-2 on the season and 1-2 in the Conference. They return to action on Monday, October 22, at 7 P.M. against Medgar Evers College.
