The New York women's basketball team defeated Vaughn College 96-22 to improve to 12-9 on the season and 3-3 in conference play.
With the win, the Knights secured the #3 seed for the upcoming Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference postseason in Albany where they will square off against the #1 seeded St. Joseph's College.
The Knights were led by junior guard Rachel Thomas (Murry Bergtraum HS/Brooklyn, NY) who led all scorers with 24 points while adding seven rebounds. Junior forward Taisha Sherman (Vanguard HS/New York, NY) added 20 points. Overall the team shot 55.6% for the game versus 20.5% for the Warriors who dropped to 0-11 on the season.
The Knights compete on Sunday versus the #2 ranked Apprentice School at 3 P.M. at Baruch College in a pivotal USCAA matchup.
