The New York men's soccer team won their first game of the season in a Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference matchup against Sarah Lawrence College at Randall's Island on Saturday.
The Berkeley Knights converted a penalty kick by Jermaine Dacres with less than two minutes remaining in the first half to take a 1-0 lead.
The Knights then exploded for three more goals in the second half, the second by Dacres followed by goals by Guillermo Moscoso and Kwami Adissou. Overall the Knights managed twenty shots on goal to the Griffins eight in a commanding 4-0 shutout.
Goalkeeper Jonathan Graneros recorded 5 saves. The win improved the Knights overall record to 1-5 and their conference record to 1-1.
