The New Jersey men's soccer team set a program record for wins in a season by defeating Bryn Athyn College 6 to 1 this afternoon to improve to 7-7 on the season with four games remaining on the schedule.
The Knights fell behind 1-0 after only five minutes before tying the game at 1-1 on a goal by sophomore defender Dan Freitas (Kearny/Kearny, NJ) at the 25 minute mark.The Knights would take the lead for good with only four minutes remaining in the first half on a goal by sophomore forward Ramon Arce (Bernards/Bernardsville, NJ).
With just over ten minutes gone by in the second half the Knights would strike again on a goal by freshman forward Xhulio Albrahimi (Lodi/Lodi, NJ) to extend their lead to 3-1. Arce would strike twice more for a hat trick and freshman forward Eric Lourenco (Kearny/Kearny, NJ) would finish the scoring.
The Knights return to action on Wednesday as they host Vaughn College at NJIT at 7 P.M.
