Phoenixville, PA - Berkeley College's New Jersey men's soccer team secured their first win of the season in dominating fashion, defeating Valley Forge Christian College by a score of 8-1 to improve to 1-3 on the season.
Freshman forward Kevin Ortiz (Kearny/Kearny, NJ) got the Knights on the board early at the 12:03 mark on an assist from sophomore midfielder Nuno Santos (Kearny/Kearny, NJ). It was immediately followed by a goal at the 13:42 mark by Ortiz again on an assist by sophomore midfielder Ramon Arce (Bernards/Bernardsville, NJ).
The Knights would strike three more times before the half to take a 5-0 lead on two goals by freshman forward Adem Isa (Wayne Valley/Wayne, NJ) and a goal by Arce.
Sophomore forward Dan Freitas (Kearny/Kearny, NJ) and Ortiz again would increase the lead to 7-0 before Valley Forge would score at the 80:40 mark. Freshman defender Mark Langille (Kittatinny/Newton, NJ) would complete the scoring at the 88:56 mark on an assist by freshman forward Shawn Duda (Secaucus/Secaucus, NJ).
The Knights next play at Rosemont College on Wednesday, September 12, at 4 P.M.
