For the second time this season the New York men's soccer team couldn't quite figure out University of Maine Fort Kent, losing to them in the USCAA Semi-Finals 5-1 to end their national championship run.
Fort Kent struck early with two goals within the first seven minutes of the match, but Berkeley would strike back with a goal of their own by Haakon Schjelderup to cut the lead in half. Another goal at the 16 minute mark by Fort Kent gave them the 3-1 halftime advantage. Two more quick goals early in the second half would seal the victory for Fort Kent and send the Knights home with a 1-1 record in their first ever USCAA post season.
The loss brings the Knights record to 16-4 on the season with one game left, the HVIAC Championship on November 10 at Albany.
