In the first meeting between the two programs, the Berkeley College New Jersey men's soccer team was dominated by visiting West Virginia Tech, the #4 ranked team in the country.
In the most lopsided lost in program history, the Knights fell behind early when WV Tech scored at the 4:46 mark to take the 1-0 lead on a free kick. Less than five minutes later Tech would score again to take a 2-0 lead and things snowballed from there. The Knights found themselves down 5-0 at the half and never truly threatened. It would be 8-0 before the Knights would get on the board on a nice one-on-one move by Oluwatoby Jato at the 60:36 mark in the second half.
WV Tech would manage three of their eleven goals on penalty kicks and would out shoot the Knights 32 to 6 for the match.
The loss is only the second home loss in program history and drops the Knights back down to .500 at 4-4-2 on the season. They return to action Tuesday night against Moravian at home at 7 P.M.
