NY DEFEATS MARITIME

The Berkeley College New York men's soccer team defeated SUNY Maritime 3-2 to improve to 1-1 on the season.

The Knights were led by midfielder Abdelwahab Mohamed who scored all three goals for Berkeley, two of which were unassisted. He struck first 30:14 into the game on a free kick just outside of 20 yards from the goal to give the Knights the early lead. He would extend that lead to 2-0 less than five minutes later on an assist from Victor Dorismond. Mohamed would then score the game winning goal at the 64:46 mark on an indirect kick from 35 yards out.

The Knights look to get above .500 when they travel up to Syracuse on September 7 for a noon match against SUNY ESF, a team they are 0-1-1 against in their brief history.
