This weekend Berkeley College will host
its annual Berkeley College Invitational Basketball Tournament, featuring
nationally ranked men’s and women’s teams from the NYC metropolitan area and
the Berkeley men's and women's teams from the Woodland Park and New York City
campuses. All games will be played at Hostos Community College in the Bronx,
New York.

Enjoying its most successful season in team history, the New Jersey squad
(10-10) are currently ranked #12 in the USCAA-2 and making a strong push for
qualification to the National Tournament. The Knights are led by freshman
forward Isaac Robinson (Conwell
Egan Catholic/Trenton, NJ) with a 19.2 scoring average and 8.7 rebounds per
game, including a career-high 46 points last Monday night against Vaughn
College. Senior guard Gary Williams (Marist/Jersey City, NJ) is second on the
team with a 11.6 scoring clip.
Berkeley College NY
(Women): The
fourth-ranked Knights (7-7) are seeking to break a recent three-game slide
against fifth-ranked NHTI whom they defeated earlier this season 65-54 in
Concord, NH to win the NHTI Holiday Inn New Year’s Invitational. The Knights
are led by junior guard Milan Germany (Notre
Dame Prep/Bronx, NY) at 19.5 points per game and senior guard Aiyesha Brown
(John Adams/Jamaica, NY) who drops 13.4 points per game.
Berkeley
College NY (Men): The seventh-ranked Knights (10-6) bring a four game winning
streak into the tournament and face the #1 ranked NHTI Lynx (25-1) who have won
17 games in a row. Berkeley will seek to avenge an 86-83 loss earlier this
season to the Lynx in the championship game of the NHTI Holiday Inn New Year’s
Tournament. The Knights are led by the senior guard tandem of Jose Stable (EBC
HS for Public Service/Brooklyn, NY) with 22.1 points per game and Kaseem
Williams (Boys & Girls/Brooklyn, NY) with 19.7 points per game.
Hostos Community College is located on the corner of the
Grand Concourse and East 149th Street in the New York City borough
of the Bronx. The campus is easily accessible by mass transit by taking the 2,
4 or 5 subway to the 149th Street-Grand Concourse station.
